My first submission ever.. so let me know what I am not yet getting.. I am sure there is a lot. I am submitting for critique here and also another that is reversed - white on black.



Ideas on color welcome... but I tend to only do work in black and white mostly just working in pen and ink.

yeah I agree with colours, maybe something like the Rainbow Fish coz with the whole thing coloured it'd look like too much if u get me

A interesting idea. I would do a couple of things before submitting this though. Cleaning up the line work would help the clarity and quality of the drawing. Another idea for you would be losing the gator more in the leaves and making it less obvious. By doing so, you'll have the opportunity to play with shading with your coloring and really have a stronger work. Keep at it! It's a great start.

i reckon just add a few colours to this design to give it a jumping off the page feeling when you loo at it

i definitely like the illustration better with color.



it does seem to be missing something, though. i'd consider one or more of the following:

* changing shirt color to an earth tone

* changing positioning so it's not so centered

* adding more elements or background elements to help it blend better

this is nice really playful! i like all the detail put into it man!

I would like to see the eyes a little less potent and like the guy before me said.

- shirt color stay away from black and white they are killers

- position

- add background just dont over do this design, its already very detailed.

hmm what i would like to see is more randomness on the two semi covered areas.. looks a little bit symetrical?

yea... it seems very contrived and not very natural... that may be a good part of it... I will work on randomizing it more and adding more to it. it is too stiff I think still.

so at first I was like "hmmm I don't know about this one" but then when it zoomed out and showed it on the shirt I thought "wow, that looks really good on a shirt!". so I would just mess with the coloring a bit, maybe give it more of a washed out and faded look

I actually like it b&w and maybe just highlight the eyes. To me image has more power when it's b&w but that's just me, I know that's not popular and most people prefer colors so go with it! And try it on some different tee colors.

Ditto to most all remarks, plus, I think I'd like to see some water rings around the edges of the gator.

Wow, nice, though I would just use some warmer colours for the eyes. They're poppng out too much.
