The Queen of Hearts seems to be missing just one. Yours.

The tips of her dress and the flames could each use a more natural feel and flow. Other than that, it seems to be working.

If not a black shirt, then perhaps a darker shade of gray, one that doesn't interrupt the lovely texture of her dress though. I like the idea with the heart in hand. The main thing that doesn't really appeal to me is the head/hair - the 'flames' seem very structured, almost like blocks stacked on top of one another. Frankly they are also pretty out of place with the rest of the design.



As a side note, it might be funky to incorporate a larger (read: life-size) heart image over the left side and invert what you have now and throw it on the right. Perhaps she could be manipulating the wearer's own heart via puppet strings or further texturing of her sleeves/hands/whatever.

I'm not sure what to think about this one. She looks more like the joker then the queen of hearts.

I think she has the right expression, but needs an outfit change. Love the swirl thing going on though! I also think a darker gray (or maroon?) shirt would help.

sometimes it's hard to explain what exact work it needs... I could say as "do image more tasty".... don't know what - more details, lines, lil different curls and angles. Now it looks flat but not meaning shadows. :) just try to play with it

overall i think its a nice idea... but the figure is very rigid and stiff, loosen her up a little....

Hrm. What to say....

The concept is nice. You should most definitely run with it. But it needs reconstruction.



Though I like the kinda sleek dress, It doesn't scream queen of hearts. It screams... i don't know. lich or witch. The character has a really smug look on her face, but her body language doesn't convey that at all. I'd do some research into royal gowns or even the queen of hearts design from the card to go about designing her dress. Also look at lots of figure drawing, things that convey lots of emotion.



As for the concept itself, Someone mentioned a life size heart. I'm not sure of what your illustration level is, but I would try maybe a perspective piece, where she's in the background reaching up with her hand around or about to grasp the heart (located on the shirt where the heart should be). Life size would be pushing it a bit i think, but otherwise, give er a shot.

v1 was better, I do not like the head try working on it, yellow too strong

I quite liked the first version more. And if your planning a red shirt - try putting the hand with the heart infront of the figure - otherwise it's lost.

I'm not really digging the extra arms and whatnot and I liked the old one with the off center design. It does look pretty sweet on red though.

yeah, plz dont kill me but I think #1 would be better BUT you could make it not so pointy if u get me. Like, more curvy. I'm liking the knife and acctual heart, that way its like a play on words. maybe not such a dark red for the Tee.

Version one was WAY better. I don't think the knife is even necessary. The scepter pretty much IS though. Maybe instead of the firey mess, you could have an actual crown? something more to signify that she's a queen? Also, not sure the rosey cheeks and eyeless demon things work well together. Pick one. Either make her evil, or cute.

Go big or go home. if you're looking for irony, have a cute girl/woman princess/queen holding a human heart. if you wanna go for just demonic, then do it up. I think this would unify design more.
