I know I know...people are technically apes, but it just doesn't sound as good! This is one of the simpler illustrations I've done. Just wondering if it will fare better or worse that my more detailed stuff. Carry on!

Good idea and style, by try another placement on the shirt. Maybe split the pic and text - one to go on the front, and one on the back.

I think if you can do something more interesting with the text it will work better.

I like the text style but it seems to be a little too close to the monkey.

Play around with the placement a little. I love evolutionary biology, so this really appeals to me. Maybe make the monkey's face more simple, as its a bit hard to distinguish his features easily.

Could he be looking at the skull more directly?

..."Alas, poor Yorick..."

I would put the text to the left of the monkey, and maybe rotate the skull clockwise a bit more, but other than that it looks great.

Actually, I think "Alas, poor Yorick..." would be the perfect line for this shirt. It relates the monkey to a human actor and gives it emotion. Plus, it's a great play on classic lit.

The text looks a little convoluted. It's more bubbly than sketchy. Your illustration is much more sophisticated than the text.

The only confusion in the face I have is it looks like he has two noses. Maybe insert tiny details on the fur to match with the high detail face.
