Feels a bit cluttered and without focus. Any way to decrease line strength? What's the intent of the shirt?

Hmmn, I will have a go with the line strength. Was basically just looking out my window at work and started sketching the buildings thinking it would be intereseting to play with the perspectives, and then I threw in a robot because my mind was wandering. I might go back and remove some of the colours to break it up a bit more...

I see what you are saying about the grey tone with the light t. I think that is a cool effect. This is I feel like a good sketch to what will be the finished design. The line weight is to similar. It looks like you had a line drawing that you simply vector traced in illustrator. Also I would try bringing the design all the way to the bottom of the t. It adds to the abstract design I feel like u r trying to achieve. Keep going though.

Yeah you got me, I did just vector trace because I cant seem to get the hang of vectoring myself. Any tips?

different color shirt for sure, other than that i really like it.

New version, vectored the lines (I found out how) and played around with the colours. What do you think? WHat colours should I use?

more attention to the robot by making it a solid color different from the buildings. also the rooftop garden is a little distracting. good idea, good start.

Any thoughts on the silver tee? Cant seem to find any other colours that could go well with it. Although the whole colour scheme is up for debate too, but I quite like the pale green in this one.

i'd play with the angles a little more. i think these two colours are working well in a strange way, reminding me of an architecture in helsinki graphic from last yr, just needs a little tightening up

How do you mean play with the angles? Should I straighten all of the lines up? was kinda going for that hand drawn look. Also I'm not quite sure what to do about the robot's body, I feel the design I have just isnt working but dont know what to do... Maybe a panel of windows all the way? What do peeps think? Would love some help on this ^-^

This is the next effort. I changed the Robots body style and recoloured all of the windows in a 3 tone grey and played around with the shirt colours.

I like it. Although, I think on the gray shirt the robot may be a little too well camouflaged.

Hmmn, its a tough one because I can't decide how well camoflaged I want him. I am starting to like it more and more on white, especially on a person.

I think the robot contrasts more on olive and blue shirts becaise it is the only thing that is completely coloured in. I worked a little on thickening up the lines on the robots arm and may play around a bit with stretching it around like it is on the model. I shall post the newer version tonight barring any more suggestions.

i really like the fact that i cannot see the robot at first, cause i didn't and then i found it and it was like a nice surprise. it reminded me of those highlights magazine things where you have to find stuff in the picture. thank you for that.

Bear with me, this may be far too busy but without flash flash skills its all I have.



Improvements made are changing colours to try to show off the robot a bit more, thickening the arm lines of said robot and also warping the design a bit.

Hmmmn, thanks for the comment but I'm not sure I can put much detail in the windows without having to change the whole style of the pic.

The amount of detail is fine for that style and the warp is an improvement.



The white one looks the most solid as I don't think the turquoise really goes well with the others. Maybe try a yellow one?

Really good art work. I think it might look better and more in place on a print vs. on a t-shirt though.

I could try reducing the size on the shirt and see how that works I guess.

I agree. I would reduce the overall size of the design on the shirt. It seems to be maximized to the edges, which ends up feeling a but cramped. Just a bit of breathing room around the edges, and perhaps some asymmetry could do the trick.

Yeah I know what you mean, I do like the way it finishes right on the bottom of the tee, what do you think about skewing the top to the left or right?

I was thinking to place it on the right down low but the design is kind of square-like. If it was taller on the right it would work better. Skewing it towards the top left might be interesting.

I could always invert it so the higher points are on the right.

Or maybe just stretching the right side taller than the left side....

I love the top designs, how you "smooshed" them over. It is visually interesting and really works well on the shirt! I love it on the white even though people on this site have a problem with white shirts ^_^

I really like the top two, the bottom ones are too busy.

Well, now it looks smashed. There's a difference between illustrating with a smashed-look and smashing an illustration. It's all in the line weight. I liked your earlier versions better, but I like the new placement. A compromise between to the two would involve a redraw.

Perhaps taking a some buildings out on the outside and overlapping a bit more could help in reducing the amount you have to squash the image.

yea... it looks better in placement. But a redraw or even cutting and pasting parts... to make it tall on the farthest right side and then trailing low towards the bottom left.
