looks good, what about the proportions of the feet or atleast the front right one
haha, they are massive! thanks for pointing that out.
Schmeme on Sep 03 '08
Nice idea...
I think that you could make him poke his bum in the air as if he s going to pounce or something... Could you Crit mine please? http://www.threadless.com/critique/27659/Beetle_Love#lastcomment |

i added more hair to replace the solid areas of highlights and shadows.
also a bit more "ready to pounce"

i'd almost prefer if front legs were out more like it was growling at it or about to swat, i think the idea and design has merit, but panther looks off balance and rear legs seem oddly shaped in the current version.
thanks for pointing that out. I'll work on that.
I agree...the back legs could use some work, BUT its such a silly and fun concept, I'm not sure you need to spend hours hashing out the correct anatomical position. I say submit as is! I uploaded my first design today, and would love your feedback: http://www.threadless.com/critique/27812/Post_Mortem_Anthropologist_Transport_Device

drop the panthers upper back and head down more, like a cat thats about to pounce on a little toy. you know? haha

haha funny!! The stance of the panther seems a little awkward to me, maybe you could make it look more like its about to pounce?
feel free to comment on mine! http://www.threadless.com/critique/378756/Love_Line |

ah, you're too good, orange! I love the shading on the panther, the only thing I would suggest is to maybe put some claws on the paw so it looks like he might pop the balloon/tail. nice work!
thanks ninety, i will take your advice and turn it into vectors!

marrgalo on Sep 07 '08
The balloon animal you have looks exactly like the one in "dog fight"
http://www.threadless.com/product/1233/Dog_Fight Why is the panther fighting a dog? I think it would be cool if the balloon animal was more cat-like. Besides that the design is fantastic and definitely ready to be subbed! |

Its very good! My only critique at all on this might be that the tail (connecting from the butt) doesn't really look like it's in the right position; like it's up too high? other than that it looks great!
hmm, i'll look into that.
oi just saw this. kinda agree with xetak.. it's quite sharp and strong that it stands out too much on its own.. I like it though, esp the rendering :)
hmm, so should i work on making the tail a bit more natural?
iQuitt on Sep 08 '08
you should probably move where the tail starts... it's a good design though...
Fujiapple on Sep 08 '08
I would wear this !
spacextoaster on Sep 08 '08
this is really cool!
but the tail is kind of to arch-y for me right now. make it more natural? need critique on mine too, if you have time to spare. http://www.threadless.com/critique/25832/gretel_likes_to_cut_and_paste |

i tried making it a bit more natural, but it looked too loopy and i decided to come up with 2 versions.

jshicks8 on Sep 08 '08
smaller shadow on v2 under the balloon animal, i like v2 personally
what do others think about the body proportions on the 2nd?
i will reduce the shadow. |
Excellent- go with the second

i thought i'd change up the tail a bit, to make the "unnaturalness" more intentional.
what do you all think? |
jshicks8 on Sep 08 '08
i like it but maybe it should get skinny where the balloon animal starts? because thats where the balloon would be twisted
well, i thought it'd be good up there because whenever you undo a balloon animal its always narrower there, so i wanted it to seem as if it were knotted there first.
quick poll: 1st or 2nd. I wanna finalize this tonight.
i'm coming back to this. which does everyone prefer?
Wondertwig on Sep 22 '08
I like the lower half, but lighten it up a bit...
bobuchan on Sep 22 '08
I prefer the top. As accurate as it is, the sudden change into a thin line seems awkward to me on the bottom.
garciagirl on Sep 22 '08
Top! In the second version, it doesn't really look as though it's connected, even though it is. (Sorry if that was confusing)
Tight on Sep 22 '08
the panther looks a little fat... sort of like a rabbits body.
tight: that was the same problem i had with my original dandelion crit. I'll work on it a bit more.
Rainbowfish007 on Sep 22 '08
top one is intense and sharp on the idea! Like it... although the panther could be little lighter. Wouldnt do the ground in purple thou...

little miss shortie. on Sep 24 '08
it kindof reminds me of "dog fight," but i still think it's pretty cute
you could always try a different balloon animal, possibly.. |
hmm, i was going for the cat dog fight.
specnermon on Sep 25 '08
you could have something behind the panther like a clown or the other mischivious animals that made his tail like that.
can you crit mine maybe http://www.threadless.com/critique/28958/there_are_some_things_you_can_t_bury_deep_enough |
