V2 - looks more interesting, but i'm not sure they still look enough like books.

Thoughts?
and Thanks everyone

Perhaps lines to the bottom edges to show depth of pages. Also give each one a different position instead of all the same pose. Use the missing parts of the book to maybe give them more bird-like tails as well.

Could definitely be an awesome concept.

P.S. I think I like version one for the concept more, maybe using version one just draw a full color bird of some sort where you have the outline.

writing on the page that you can see would be good. Plus, maybe you could have the bird sections taking off out of the books - does that make sense?

Yeah depending on which one i go for, alot more details needs to be added. like the lines to the bottom of the pages and text as you mentioned discuss.

I'm not sure abut the adding a full colour bird - i want it just to be an outline, like a silhouette.

Again depending on what version proves most popular i still need to add a Raven - for The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe, Swallow - Swallows and Amazons and a Mockingbird - To Kill a Mockingbird

T-box - I think i know what you mean, having the bit thats left from the cutout discared on the bottom of the shirt kinda thing?

Thanks for your input people

Right now if I didn't have "bird" in my head, I'd say the books sort of look like a pair of legs with a torso bent forward.

yeah i think they could do with looking more like birds, the wings seem too far back along the body. could there be three different books not just a repition of the same one.

one flew over the cuckoo's nest etc
oh just read what you wrote, you're going to do this anyway
sorry i'll be quiet now

Yeah this a pelican, and according to my research, their wings are set pretty far back on the body.

I think its decided though, i think i'll develop up version 2 rather than v1. V2 was my original idea, and is definely the more interesting looking of the pair.

Thanks everyone

How about having some pages flying off the birds as in feathers that drop when a bird takes flight?

yeah writing on the page schould be good, and maybe some details: like seeing pages or the stripes of pages.
Cool idea though!

whatcha think about mine ?

you should try having some origami birds or something following a lead book or something like that, do something with added pages i think.

take a look at mine if ya wouldn't mind.
