Throw some strings on that guitar.

I didn't want to get to detailed with the guitar and the Guitar Hero guitar doesn't have strings...

I would like the shadows of the text to be more defined, almost like a statue or something, and the guitar could have a shadow so it looks like the guitar is actually resting on the statue.

i don't think you should get too detailed on the guitar like you said, but i'd add a bit of shadow to it for some depth. and the buttons might help distinguish it better those who don't get it. maybe get it a little bit truer to the controller.

Awesome idea. I agree that the guitar should be remodeled to look more like the real deal, with a tad more depth to sync up with the block feel of the letters.

I see your point on not making it too detailed, something just seems naked about it though.

Added some depth and shadow on the guitar. Frickinawesome gave me an awesome idea that I'll incorporate into the next version.

It definitly looks better with the guitar having some depth and I like that you lightened the block around the lettering.

HA! Nice incorporation of the damsel in distress idea! I'm not so sure if people are gonna quite understand what we're going for though with the fire yet. I'm afraid of making this too busy and losing the effect of the guitar leaning against the words, but it looks great as well with the fire in the wondow of our 3-d word text building. Hmmm, maybe just have the first three windows and add a little bit of smoke rising out of the window at the top? I'd love to put a little person in the top one but it would ruin the effect im thinking. But maybe with a few less windows and some smoke to really show the danger we're trying to illustrate, it might work better.

What does anyone else think about this? lol.

I was thinking that having every windo in flames kind of made it a little too busy. Maybe, like you said, limit it to the a few windows or maybe even one. Smoke could go either way, I'd have to see it.

I think the same about the flames in all the windows, It would look cool if you add firemen running around maybe one of them climbing the guitar with a hose some people on the roof stuff like that, but thats just me.

I like the idea but I don't dig the flames. I agree about the other's comments, but flames should be more assymetrical, you know? With yellow and read throughout, not just in layers. Then they'll be sweet. The firemen could be cool. Really awesome idea though.

Less windows + billowing smoke from the top floor

Try using a darker red for the edge of the guitar, it'll give it a bit more depth, still kinda looks flat right.

i'd work on the smoke and flames a bit more. make it look less like it's ripped from a nes game. but i think the new additions really added to the design.

is it inspired by the game? if it is, do you plan on adding the buttons?

i think if i added the buttons it would be declined for copyright infringement

I kind of like having all of the previous windows, just not fires in all of them.

I agree with skeev. I also think if you are gonna do smoke it should be bigger and go up higher and spread out. I stamnd by what I said before about the fires. The layered look makes em look like feathers or something. I'm excited to see this continue to get better!

with or without, does gibson hold rights to the sg look? i'm not really sure, but i think you could get away with it, seeing some generic guitar brands copy the same body style. and seeing a guitar and the word "hero", people will put it together. so it's all good then.
i'd keep it to the number of windows you have now. it seemed like too many in the last version.
