This is cool you should put some tall grass and cat tail plants behind the design up to about the middle of the shirt. That would be awesome. You should check out both of my designs.

Some friends suggested putting a dotted line as a path from the hands to the bugs - anyone have thoughts on that?

that would be a good idea. i like stipple trails. make them swirly.

Alright, added the path. I think the black might stand out a bit too much, but I think it fills up the space better :)

Hmm I'm not sure which version I like better.

The path does fill up the space well, but I'm not sure I like it that much..



Overall, both are realy good though! Nice artwork.

I didn't originally see the bugs as coming out of the hands - I saw it more as one captured one and others flying freely. I suppose it could be seen as having caught several and releasing them into the wild. Heh.

i looks a lot better with the dashed lines. i still think it would be cool try and get it on a dark shirt.

I think if you're gonna keep the path, it would be cool if it was stitched in rather than printed, i don't know if thats what you intended or not...

I love it, but you might get some smartass saying to ripped off doodlebug... which you DID NOT. Can we see it on navy or black or dark gray?

Well, the ball is supposed to be a glow, but I didn't do so well on the cutting out portion.



I knew someone would suggest bug glow, I'll have to try a version with that.



I'm still quite partial to the white one, but I suppose both would be okay.

What if you tinted the hands a dark color, like something only slightly lighter than the shirt itself? I like the dotted lines leading up to the "escaped" bugs.

I'll be submitting a cleaner version of the black later today :)

i love this idea, i think if the dotted line was a little smoother its would be perfect, also i think you can lose the second bug. this is a great concept though!

2 bugs with the black shirt is awesome submit it. I am disapointed there are no cat tails and tall grass but it's fine the way it is. Submit verisons 5 and 4. Check out both of my designs as well if you haven't already.

You should make the lines cleaner, as it is there's good chance it will be declined due to lack of quality for printing. Seems like you scanned your pencil drawing, I suggest you ink it and smoothen the lines (and erase the pencil afterwards, of course) and then scan that version, good inking improves the quality a lot.

It's supposed to look sketched out. The quality doesn't look the best because I shrunk it loads to fit it on the shirt. The lines are all pure black - no grey pencil marks. :)

I can see it's black, but still, I've seen subs with this line quality get declined before, just giving out my opinion, but it's yours to use it or lose it =)

i really like V5. i kinda like the way it is, but have another suggestion. what it...you keep the black shirt...fill in the hands and the fireflies white and keep the dashed lines white. i like the lines. they go with the illustrations sketchiness.

Maybe define the edge of the glowing light in the hands with a line, or add a little glow outside the body of the fireflies. Right now, the fireflies' glow is defined by a line and the hands' glow is not.

i would make the dashes a little more flowing ... they seem a little choppy...



maybe use more of a canary yellow also :)
