heres a shirt with subway trains on it.. i really like the feel of the subway trains so i made a shirt.. i used older style subway cars as inspiration..

I would try to bring some variation in the trains and maybe put a few less on the shirt. For example people that you see through the windows or something like that.

i was thinking of incorporating tracks somehow but wasnt sure how to.. might be too much.. i will try the people in the windows

I think it's great! Try the silhouettes, if it clutters the design then go without. I agree with Nth, it needs something, maybe a little sign, or person on a platform? Can't wait to see where you go with this!

Nice, you could also do some graf tags of your own down the train. Know it's a hassle but worth it.

This one is pretty cool. I don't like that it ends so short on the model, but if you have it pretty much from neckline to bottom (a bit longer than on the template), I think it would look pretty spiffy. :D It just looks awkward to me that it's so crowded and then there is a bunch of open white space.

Just a friendly heads up. Since I started looking and subbing at threadless, there have been two things that have consistently been disliked. One is the repetition of the same exact object, commonly called, "copy and paste", "command C & V", "mirror image", etc.. Some criticize it for its lack of variety, saying it's boring. Others say it's lazy. The second is what they call boxing or framing a design onto a shirt. Meaning, it doesn't integrate well with the shirt and looks like the artist just ended the design at their pad's edge and slapped it on the shirt. I've made both mistakes by the way.



So right now, I'd say you need to add some variety to your design and think of how you might better integrate it with the shirt.



everko's suggestion of tags is a good idea because that would make the trains different from one another. Adding the silhouettes was a good idea as well. However, you would need to change them from train to train. (flop a person and add a hat, change a nose, add a beard to one, sit one down instead of standing up, or use props like an umbrella, newspaper, balloon, etc.). You might think about lowering your design so the trains can run around the shirt (called a belt print). This way you can stagger their coming and going so they're not squared off. Belt prints rarely use more than one color though, the registration is a bitch. The tags would have to be in black and white but might look really cool using some solid whites and blacks as well as some line and cross hatch shading.



Anyway, a few suggestions, I'm sure other things will come to you, good luck.

woah, this shirt is intense! :) i like the individualized colored people, and the train looks good. maybe a slightly less bold stroke? i'm not sure. i like where this is going, but i like v3 better... although i always love crimson shirts.

I would most like alternate the colors; Red, Black, Red. It seems to run together for me. Have you tried to make the trains go in a spiral shape. Maybe make it start a small train from center to off the shirt following a spiral path.

Cool Design. Needs a focus point I think.

The black and white trains have nice harmony to them. The people add to break up the repetition. There needs to be maybe a train exiting or entering a tunnel, or one train becoming bigger to to some form of alternate perspective?

Belt print it......but think of what you want the train to express or what is doing…the animal train idea…and then on the back do a little engine that could pun where the engine is having trouble cuz it is along train of elephants. So it would be a hybrid of a belt and standard print. I will think some more on this one and get back to you.

I agree a focus point would be cool. Maybe your signature across the front in big letters

yeh i gotta agree with a couple of the guys above. animals or some bizzare things REALLY popping out of the train might make it a lot more interesting. :)

Cool. I like how the colors make the design seem busy and fast. The white and grey shirt are perfect for this design. I'm not sure about the other colors though.

I actually prefer version 3 so much more.
