nice idea, but I think it needs more detail. By that I mean, the mask and boots need shadow to go with the way the light from the door is coming, Also, it would be pretty sweet if the gold was actual shimmering gold.
can you send me your email, or myspace, or something, I want to send you an idea I did with you design. If you like it you can keep full credit. My myspace is in my profile.
Here is an updated version. I redid the stuff in the foreground to work out some kinks and improve the shadowing. I also added the little corner of the room lines to try to establish the room more.
The man in the background could use some longer legs...he's a bit stumpy. Also, the perspective is off...you have the bar with hooks at the same angle as the line indicating the floor. The side of the bar with the mask needs to be brought up..this will make it look like it's actually hanging on the wall.
I'll give it to you straight. The silhouetted man is way out of proportion. The feet, toes pointed outward, puts him in a frontal position (I don't think anyone can strike that pose unless they're into ballet). The bigger left arm and smaller right arm suggests he's angled towards the viewer, left side forward right side back. The left hand is way oversized in comparison to everything else, etc. etc. Meaning, get a good reference of a man standing, looking towards the viewer and draw from that rather than guessing.
You might want to find a reference with the feet spread apart so he has a solid stance, the gesture and demeanor of a warrior. Scroll down to the sepia colored gladiators on this site for an idea of what I mean.
Sweet! Great concept. Nothing like a bit of masked wrestling. I think the mask and boots could sit on their own for a tee-shirt. They are great. Other than that the only thing that is perhaps wrong are the legs. Well played.
The two elements of your design are way too far apart to look like they belong to each other and also i dont think the perspective quite matches (as in the pegs are too low to the ground). Everything else is fine i think, you just need to play around with the positioning, good luck!
I like, but why not extend the Door light and the conquistador shadow diagnally until it almost meets up with the outfit. that'll bring the elements together and give a straight line for the eye to follow.
