Here's an initial mock-up of an idea I had when I saw my son painting purple mountains the other day. Does the concept carry well enough without explanation? Is it interesting enough to keep working on?

It's cool looking, I would tone the waves down a bit. Sea to shining see, I caught that. maybe that should be the waves gesturing to a shiny "C" The rest of it is a little fuzzy.

Yeah, I was hoping the "C to shining C" part might help somebody realize there was a joke going on here and look at it more carefully. Also, adding color will surely help. I'll post that later.



In the final version all of the waves won't be identical. I'm just lazy and didn't want to draw more than one wave of grain if the whole idea wasn't going to fly.

Also, I was wanting to illustrate somehow that human tears were falling on the alabaster city and not dimming it...any ideas? The fruited plane doesn't leave much room for that.

Any advice before I revise this?

That's because I copied and pasted them from the first one I drew. As I said, I'm gonna draw them individually before this is done. Just trying to get a general sense for what people think of the idea before I put more time into it.
