I figured I'd use the critique to work this design.

This is a rough sketch. Ideas? Suggestions? design name?

i wish there was one rebel rabbit smoking a cigg, with a rambo bandana and a flamethrower waiting to toast the giant carrot

he would have that "Not this crap again" look on his face

also some squished bunnies on the foot there would be funny maybe

It looks cool. It's kind of hard this earlier into the concept to be able to give it much of a critique.

Is that a 6 on the bottom of the carrots foot?

I do like it Edword & its very cutezy Threadless but I can't help thinking I've seen a carrot chasing rabbits soemewhere before sorry I cant be more helpful

there was Bunnies.. but they were evil bunnies chasing the carrot.

But I love this Edword! I want it immediately. My only suggestion would be when you get to the coloring stage is that I'd like the bunnies to remain kinda fuzzy and cute. I dunno if threadless offers flock printing as something they do now or not but it would be even more awsome if the bunnies were fuzzy.

my only suggestion is to make the arms more leafy and the foot more rooty. looks good!

or...lose the foot altogether and make him burtsing out of the ground...chunks of earth flying out. sorta like tremors or something

Edword, listen to Maltz. He is a genius ahead of his time. I could never have given better advice than that.

i like the idea of bursting out of the ground and not walking. a huge explosion of a carrot coming out, sharp claws on the fingers maybe even clutching one unfortunate bunny grasping for another one.

maybe holding it by the tail and it dangling with a frown?

Nice concept, but I'll have to reserve judgement until I see any revisions based on everyone else's suggestions.

The only thing i can think of is i want one of the front bunnys to have a piece of the carrot in their mouth with a "oh shit what have I done" look on their face, and just a little chunk of the carrot taken off

at last those damn rabbits get their comeuppance!

this looks like a great concept.

I was going between coming out of the ground and huge walking carrot I liked walking better because of the action the the huge foot gave to the design.

I still like the very first sketch most. Looks cool and I'd wear the sketch on a grey tshirt or something.

I like the B&W V2 best but I like the imprecise coloring on this one, too. The only thing I don't like is that foot print in the upper left. If I hadn't seen V1 I wouldn't know what it is because it kind of lacks depth. Maybe make it look more dirt-y and less grass-y? Or just leave it out. Still, I'd give this a 4 or 5 as is.

Still alot of work to be done on this. I was trying out some color. the color won't be this loose when I'm done.

I like these colors. Maybe a hint of blue sky behind those hills. It would make the orange carrot pop even more.

and the thumbnail is scary.

HaHA! hilarious shirt! I kind of like sthe sloppy paint job. it adds to the humor. just a few orange blocks on the small carrots, lose the white patch on the rabbit to the right and this is done, son!

yeah still foolin around with colors and and a lot more detail (I can't help it) I'd say this is olny 40% done right here.

Maybe you have green grass and bw grass because it's still in process - but I quite like the two different grass treatments - it's giving the drawing some depth and variety.

Not so keen about the chomping rabbit, I don't mind the concept of including him - but it's a bit of a dead spot in the composition at the moment. Maybe if he was off to the left, so that it provided a compositional counter balance? Or on the back?

The only thing I would change is to make the monster look as though he is focussed on the bunny eating the carrot... It would be subtle but it would add slightly more tension to the scene as a whole... Root of all Evil ftw!

so maybe just move the right eyes iris to the left a bit?

or you could just add the white shine of the eyes looking toward the rabbit...if that makes sense

Sweet! I've been watching the progress from the sidelines and it looks great. The only thing I'd say is that maybe there's a better spot for the oblivious rabbit, besides the center? It might be neat to hide him amid the action or have him off to the side a little bit...

Although if you end up following hogboy's advice, it might be best to keep him in the center.
