Just a little idea I like a lot; wondering if you do, too.

on the front, i think it needs a belly, it just looks unfinished. otherwise i like it.

Oh, one thing I particularly meant to ask people's opinions on was placement.



Wrapping around is part of the point-- black cat crossing your path-- but originally I was going to have the tail wrap back around to the front again, and decided against it because I thought the tail looked a bit weird sticking out from under the armpit. :)



What do you think?

The face and ears look more like a dog than a cat.

The back kinda looks like kitty is askin' for it...

Definitely looks like a dog...look at some stock photos of cats, then redraw.

Well, the squarish look was intentional-- on my original full-color design (a marmalade tiger-kitty) it works, but I can see why it doesn't work in an outline-only design.



Would that change make it worth submitting? I'm debating whether to spend more time on this or go chasing down some other ideas that are in my head.

I let this one get knocked down the priority list by other projects for a while, but I still like the idea. Whatcha think?

I like the front quite a lot with the changes, but the back seems still somewhat off to me. I will have to spend more time thinking about why that is, though.

My only problem with this is the kitty seems a little thin in back. It feels more like greyhound proportions than cat proportions. I'm not sure if it's the legs, or the body, but it doesn't say "cat" there.

I love the wraparound and the idea in general.



I do think that the cat's face doesn't look entirely catlike, though i'm not sure why--not pointy enough, perhaps?

I agree that the moon/clouds could be a little bigger. And it might be nice to have... well... something to counterballance the tail on the back. Down in the bottom right corner of the back.

I really like it and would happily buy. The face looks quite a bit like Emmaline my Devon Rex except her ears are lower. :)

front claws could wrap round to the lower right corner of back solving that problem too.

Oy. Once again, it got my version, but mislabeled the number, and ate my comment, and gave me a spooky SQL error. Threadless, please fix your database!

Anyway. New version includes: edited kittyface; larger moon/clouds; slightly larger kitty; edited tail so as to *fit* on shirt slightly larger; placement moved up a little. I'm really happy with this one.



He's still elongated, and that's a deliberate stylization; first of all, ever seen a cat stretch like this? They get pretty long. Second, in order to wrap, you have to take into account that people aren't 2D-- the side of a body is going to take up some space.

C'mon. Pet the kitty!

i love ur idea but he needs a lil more detail. perhaps try some whiskers, and have his paws tilting upwards to the sky. thats how my cat stretches. i dunno why ur design was rejected. i think its gorgeous. keep going on it, dont abandon it, and ul hav a great sub :)
