This is inspired by Moby\'s song \"Alice\" I\'m not totally happy with everything yet. It\'s still in sketch mode, i would like some feedback before i do a final render. thanks!

i generally find it more exciting if the 2 sides aren't exactly the same. like the style, size and placement but not the white shirt. mind do help?

I feel like if i break up the symmetry it will kill it, i plan on experimenting with color choices later when i'm happy with the design. Thanks for the feedback

i think it is beautiful, i think perhaps less emphasis on the brain? - i understand its role within the concept but it feels a little too dominating. the birds are a nice touch. don't break the symmetry.

i dont know what else you would do to it. It's organic and looks like it designed itself. Leave it that way. The more you mess with it, the more it will suck. right now if it was up i would give it a 5$. submit that $#!t miss x, its awesome.

yeah the brain bothers me a bit as well but the concept depends on it.



In a way it did design itself since i started by making a bunch of ink blots and then drew in what i saw then added the concept

I love that this has so much meaning to it. The shirt really says so much about humans and life. =D Definitely submit it.

absolute symmetry is never something you should strive for in a design because the viewers eyes will look at one side and then quickly notice that the other side of the image is mirrored and then there's nothing left to look at. if one or two things are slightly different that makes our eyes very interested in looking at the design and it keeps our attention on it longer - and that's truly what you should want as a designer, is to keep our attention.



as for the look of it though, it's honestly an outdated one. pop culture has been saturated for years with designs that look like this, random silhouetted/vectors elements in a symmetric pattern. and truth is your not making anything new at all one bit, and that's not what threadless is looking for.

it would definitely not win the contest.

nonsense! i see lots of shirt in this style, i actually one one done by "lip service" called "prey for rock n roll" which is part of the inspiration. i also have to disagree with the symmetry since many shirts use absolute symmetry as well and look great. To say "definitely not" makes you look full of yourself specially when your style is far more outdated and none of your designs have ever won here. It's more of punk/rock style and you probably are not into that style which is fine. Thanks for the feedback though!

oh and btw, symmetry and asymmetry both work. Just because you prefer one or the other does NOT define what is "right"



SYMMETRY

Symmetry means a mirror image -- one side is the mirror image of the other. Symmetry can occur in any orientation as long as the image is the same on either side of the central axis.



This type of image has great appeal -- it makes for "good" shape relationship. Many people automatically gravitate to symmetry. We are symmetrical after all -- two eyes, two ears, etc.. Look around at consumer products and graphics (printed materials) to see how many use symmetry. You will find that it is the dominant organizational concept.

I think you should submit this because I like this style... Others might not like it but whatever. =/ It looks better with the symmetry and has more meaning with it... Like you said, humans are symmetrical so it really mirrors who we are. xD I know that sounds lame. The shirt is perfect to me. I'm sorry I can't give any more feedback unless I think of some.

oops! sorry it uploaded like 5 new versions.. lol I ditched the brain/mushroom cloud/angel thing since it wasnt working out for me. This is the final rendered version. Can any colors. The red one is just an alternative version i'm not sure threadless could print it so i kept black as well. the new sub will be called "Guard your Heart" Thanks for all your feedback!
