Thanks for the support skaw. I agree it probably wont socre well. probably a little too gruesome for threadless buyers, I just wanted to see if I could make it look realistic

so for the people who said "needs work"... does that mean it needs more blood or that it needs something else to tell the story a little better? i was thinking of adding arm restraints to the chair

It needs to be more gritty, definitely. The style is far too clean for the subject matter, and there needs to be major contrast in the wood grain. Right now, it's hard to see a bit.

Of course more blood, but what I'd personally love is to see a severed ear next to the chair.

And the brick wall is at the wrong angle. It shouldn't be perfectly flat like it is.

skipper - thanks for the suggestions. as for the wall, i imagined the perspective was looking straight at a flat wall, but i dont know if i made the other objects accordingly...

It is really great - reminds me of my boarding school experience - So don't let my critique soil an already swell design that I would give a 5 too

If it were to be improved on i would say:
Darker shirt - bring the mood to the sinister arena
it will also make your swell looking brick wall standout a little more
Try more of a mahogany wood colors (darker browns and reds)
and finally... playing on your title maybe add one more element on the floor, like a dead fish or clown shoes or something completely odd that will make us all think WTF happened here!

an explanation of the title...

I've been watching the sopranos a lot lately and whenever something really bloody and unexpected goes on, someone walks into the room and says something to the effect of "what the fuck happened here?" So I imagined this scene is something about of the sopranos or reservoir dogs or some other gruesome torture scene.

I picked white as my initial color scheme because i wanted to contrast the darkness of the themes with the light, crispness of the design. i think it will work better if i grunge it up a little more and put it on a dark gray as skipper and captain have suggested. thanks for all the suggestions guys, ill be putting up a new version within the next couple days

i think im going to dull down the color of the chair a little and have a little less contrast between the wood color and the grain color

I'd darken the blood...against the dark shirt it looks kind of neonish.

thats nice! not sure I like the darker wood, but looks great either way.

i decided the other wood was a little too bright for the look im going for, i wanted a subtleness to the contrast

put some highlights and you're good to go. very nice!

I think it's strange there is no blood on the chair itself... I can't think of what might have happened that kept the chair completely clean.
