this design is making me crazy with the detail it requires. The reddish colors are just stuff that i haven\'t filled in yet. I thought i would post now and get some input even though i have lots of work left to do. thanks!

yeah its going to be a bridge . might put some streaky red taillights going in. still debating number of colors. kind of want to keep it one color or maybe a gradient

HAve some water reflections of te buildings and stuff, so that way its not just floating in the air, I love the idea though

great idea with the reflections. im still trying to figure a way to maybe use the negative space to make the city more believable. I might make it on the coast, or use smoke from a factory to give it the shape i want. Thanks everyone for the ideas. Ill update what ive been working on soon.

just for placement. The city lights will wrap around on the back and kind of squiggle away like a snake

also im not too familiar with discharge printing, does anyone know if this design would work with it?

It is good. I really like the lights. I dont know that it represents a snake before I read your comment. If that is what you are aiming for, you should have an eye somewhere and make the body slimmer

yeah the tower on the left is going to be an eye. half the design isn't done yet. Kind of going for kind of a hybrid snake-monster looking thing.

Love it. I think the eye could be a bit more pronounced though. Also, the head seems a little disconnected from the body. Does anyone else get that or is it just me?

yeah. the head is disconnected because i have become sick of making vector buildings. i thought posting a critique would maybe motivate me. Sadly, this is not the case. There is always tomorrow.

Very impressive and beautiful. Yes make the eyr look like a building. That's a very nice concept, make it look like a regular city at first glance and then a giant snake. I do think you should choose one style for all of the design. The vector art looks great, I'd go with that.

Maybe making a dome building might help the shape of the eye and make it looke more building like.

any monster similarity in particular?
it looked kinda like a high heel minus the heel to me. maybe more body would solve it.

well, the one on the right doesn't have to be convex. just have a similar building as the left eye put in to the right one.
and maybe if the shirt was black and you put in a whole city, it might look better. just have some stuff that shape out the monster. like roads or something.
