Something Ive been playing around with for awhile, still needs some work. What do you all think?

Nice Idea. The legs/trees are great, but the bird's bodies need to be more 3d. Perhaps try to have fewer legs/trees, as it seems confusing, but that may be your plan. What about some texture on the bodies?

Looks good. It could use some feathery looking leaves.

I love the legs and roots and the color choices so far. It does seem like this is somehow destined to be a texture-y piece, so I agree with everyone else about wanting some more detail to bring the birds into the foreground a little more. What about birds within the birds? All in all, pretty! Looking forward to seeing this one finished.

Still working on the feather detail, not in love with it yet. what do you think?

I like the feathers on the body, but find the straight across lines on the neck and head a little awkward. Or maybe it's just because they end so abruptly on the head. I do think it's really nice though, how you're just using the different tones instead of linework for the feathers. Maybe make the texture wrap all over the bird, just to really set them apart? And then possibly a few more elements around the island - a cloud, more birds (I still think birds on the birds would be great!) and I'd say this is ready...



It's really nice, I would love to wear it...

I like it, I think it would look a little more natural if the highlights in the neck followed the neckline down. and the legs/trunks could be a more earthy brown too.

Really cool. I'd wear it. I also thing some elements in the sky will do good an create a little composition tension. Cool idea. Have seen lots of these nature type colors/scenes. Still cool though. Maybe push a leaf design in the feathers rather than lines. Good luck!

Great idea. If I had to suggest one thing it would be to make sense of the trunks that aren't the birds' legs. Maybe if the trunks led to other birds in the background.
