Hello! I am thinking about taking this painting of mine and translating it into a t-shirt. Before I do, I wanted to see if there was any interest in an image like this on a shirt. I plan to redraw it and work from the simpllified line work, so it will be a new, more graphic image. The final image will not be in the rectangular format. Any thoughts? Thanks!

OK. Here is the rough sketch. The image will be self-contained (not cut off at the bottom and top) and there will be swirls around the jar. I am still thinking about colors, but I am thinking bright/light. Any thoughts on placement? Thanks for your feedback!

Can't quite see the design from the sketch. You mention a jar but I can't see one. Its a nice sketch but might be worth inking it to clarify the lines that will remain.

I am thinking of making the tree and rocks with subtle color (maybe browns and have the inside of the jar be more bold. I like the idea of subbing with a colorful version and a one color version. Thanks!

The large version is done with the dark olive shirt. I tried a few other options. Let me know what you guys think. Different colors? I will definitely submit a one/two color version as well.

I agree that the olive shirt looks best. The image on the left is the same as the last submission, but the one on the right has some color changes: I bumped up the peach a little, changed the grass to a different green, the leaves and rocks are more golden and the fumes are peach instead of white. Which do you like better? Also, in the inset is the possibility for the two color version, which I am really liking. It is done on the light gray shirt with two different green inks. Is it better than the seven color one? Should I submit both versions or just one? Any suggestions before I submit? Thanks!

I think it looks very beautiful and vibrant. i would like to see where and how it's positioned on a shirt. your third draft of this design is also very bold (without the color), I have a volcom shirt that looks sort of like the third version.

I think the sepia version looks good but if you'll restrain your use of colors and calm the saturation down a few notches, you'll achieve a version more interesting than plain sepia

For the placement, I am thinking centered, fairly large, but not too large. Does that look good to you guys? Other suggestions? Thanks!

Yup! I think it took about about 20 hours. Those little leaves are such a pain! Heehee!

I really like them both, but I would more likely buy the two colored version.

For some reason I like the BW version better than the color. Actually, I like the washed out/muted tone version best of all. I think the full color one id just to rich in tone. Maybe that's just my personal preference. I think more muted tones would match the old style classic illustration that you've got going here.

I like the more vibrant one! It brings out the lovely illustrative details the best.. I especially like it on the dark green.. it makes it seem like it is a hidden place in a forest! And the tiny pink bubbley-details stand out well against it. Lovely! :)
