looks like a great start! needs color, but obviously you know that. the only other thing that looks a bit off is the guy riding the windmill... he looks flatter and more cartoonish than the folks on the bottom. this has really good potential here :-)

thanks for the suggestions, i think i'm going to add a windmill silhouette or two in the background.

I like it in black and white. But also interested to see the adaptation in color.

Agreed with WhitneyBeth. The dude riding the windmill needs to be as realistic as the ones on the ground. Fix that, I dunno if it needs colour, but if you make it kinda 'delfts blue'example

thanks, i thought about doing it in delfts blue, but it might get too Dutch (souvenir t-shirt). I'll see what it looks like with blue though, and a range of different colors.

Eric, Looking at the design again, I noticed that the blades of the windmill seem a little off place, they do not seem to fit or seem at the wrong angle to the building....

Haha, this makes me laugh! I would also like to see it colored, but not bright colors.

Deffo keep the cloud. Just an idea but had you thought of having the cloud pissing itself laughing at the kid - like with its hand on its head? Maybe that would add a bit of an 'edge' to the design? Just a thought.

Eric, Don't get rid of the cloud! Also I am curious, how many colours? less than 8?

I won't be getting rid of the cloud, but this design has more than 8 colors so the only option is to print it using simulated press. I might make an 8 color option just to compare it with this one.

I like the third design best. A gradient sounds like a good idea. Also the shape of the horizon sort of suggest a slope or hill as it is now. It would be more holland like if it was straight. Not that that would do anything for the drawing in particular.

I thought a sloping horizon would make it more interesting. hhmm, maybe i should slope it on both sides..

I think a gradient would also be cool. I'd be interested to see what it looks like with sloped sides. The blue horizon now looks a bit flat compared with the rest of the design. See what you can do!

The best thing about it is that when you look at the design on the shirt, you hardly notice the guy flying off the windmill! Its only up close that the humor is revealed!

I much prefer the 3rd version, the sky is too strong here and doesn't suit the style of the overall drawing.

So this is the other sky shading, using the color of the shirt.

Look at v5 for a comparison.

I like the dark shading and would love to see it on a black shirt - the boy would really stand out - but I don't know what would happen to the blades of the windmill.

I guess a black shirt would require a lot of reworking - so I'd say go ahead and submit - in which case I still like the darker one with the more atmospheric shading. but that's just me.

Eric I like the addition of the windmill on the horizon. I liked the sky in V4. The black shading in V5 does nothing more for the design, but the shading in V6 is better. I don't think that it needs the shading, however if you do want to have it, V6 is far better than V5.

Missed this too.

I know this is not what you want to hear but... I really like the "windmill ride" aspect however, all the scenery seems a bit unnecessary. I would maybe re-work the drawing paying more respect to the windmill and rider.
