The linework is really nice

I think you could do more with colour perhaps

I wonder if he could look more like a bird of prey?

I think it already looks like a bird of prey with the sharp beak and talons.. you could emphasize this by making them bigger though. It kind of bothers me that there isnt an eye because birds of prey rely on their vision so much.. also what is that on the back? If the hunting has just begun i would have expected there to be a mouse somewhere in the same style as the bird.. I sense you want to keep this simple but see how it looks in color, like green leaves and brown mouse or something. keep working on it, the critques usually serve me well, my design is up for voting!

Ya i have a few concepts in using colour for the illustration. will upload it soon ....

personally im a big fan of black and white designs. I like the design and the idea, but i would go a little bigger with it on the shirt, idk im just ocd about taking up as much space as i can, you know, more to look at. thnx for the comment too.

Oh and definitely do experiment with different line/shirt color combinations. It looks great in the b/w, but perhaps a bronze/black?

I like the style and linework, I like the birds head but its body seems really heavy- like a fat chicken, not a bird of prey. Could you make him look like he is soaring? instead of standing.



also, you could do a lot with the color on this-- How would it look if it

were metallic ink on black?

the page right wing could be enlarged quite a bit to match the other, being closer to us. The design would read better if there was more clear intent to it. Perhaps some variation in line style (not just weight). It's a nice design, just doesn't inspire much. Needs a purpose. Your lines are crisp though!

I think the idea for the shirt placement is very nice—I'd like to see that complicated design run around the side and the bottom of the shirt and maybe to the back.



I think perhaps that the wings could be made a bit more symmetrical (the one on the right is sort of shorter and darker than the other one)

Cool line-work, I like the flame elements around the wings, now it looks like a phoenix. And as you can see, I am a bird fan bigtime. How about trying orange-red on blue shirt?.would look like phoenix bigtime..just a thought

Hey Thanks Knitmongrel , even i really like the b & w one , but i guess as a designer we should try out different things, since it looked rather flat . i wanted to experiment with colours , so that the phoenix looks more fiery.

I like the tail from your previous version better. This one looks too disjointed. I'd also like to know what shirt color options you were thinking of putting this on.

i love it - the colors on this are perfect. the design is absolutely beautiful - maybe when you show placement you could sprinkle a few of the tail embers around on random parts of the shirt - just an idea. i think it would look the best on black - really striking.

Way cool, i like. Being self confessed bird design fanatic, I love it and I also like the b & w design too but I prefer this colour for a phoenix. On green tones it will look awesome. As for the line-work, well, you take the cake

actually, i like the v3 tail slightly more. maybe the tail should like something between v3 and v4. I like the idea of have some flames trailing and falling off of it though.
