A design i was working on today.. the ABC\'s of type. Do you recognize any of them?

Really like the idea! But somehow the colors distract me.. I think it's the red.. its too overwhelming.. try another color instread!



Could you look at my latest critique version of "Tree Frog" ?

yea the red does look pretty bright.. especially in the O.. but the color possibilities are endless.. i think im going to make a mens and womens design.

maybe red is ok if you made the O a little smaller, if you put other colors in that big O I think they will be also overwhelming.. But we'll see if you post some color options :)

Ooo oo, I'll play! Arial, Bauhaus, Century Gothic, Didot,..can't think of any E's of the top of my head...Futura, my beloved Gill Sans, Helvetica, Impact...and so on and so on. Thank you for leaving out Comic Sans, (Oh, is it Eurostile?) It's fontabulous!



So yeah, I love love love the idea, though I almost didn't get it because I was busy cringing at the colors. It's largely a matter of personal taste, obviously. For me, it seems more typophallic (god is that a word? it should be) if the palette is less garish. Were you going for a more primary/ABC look? It fits the theme well, but I don't like it. Again, personal taste. I would love to see some really striking palettes, like pastels on brown, one bright color set off by other washed out colors, and so on. As it is, I'm not convinced that filling in the space between the letters is the best way to show off this concept.



Love the idea though, can't wait to see where it goes.

Like this one the most! The blue replaces the red very well!

I like the colors in this version the best out of all of these.

Arial, bauhaus, century gothic, now I'm kinda tired of looking at it.

but you didnt! and if youre playing the this is too simple card, that would be bullshit cuz there are many more printed design on threadless you couldve done too, but just didnt think about it. btw theres no need to apologize

I'm just saying, the way it fits the shirt, along with the colors, and the concept, it's not for me. I don't think it will go over well with the voters either. if there was more reason to the arrangement, maybe, but they're all just forming ligatures in random places.

thats better.. now youre getting it!! random with reasoning! the reasoning is that every letter starts with the first letter of that font.. if you or anybody else didnt catch that already.

I got it before. I'm saying the arrangement means nothing. make it more purposeful, rather than just moving around baselines and making random ligatures. or at least color it in a fashion where maybe it makes a picture. Place the fonts in an organization where the negative colored shapes can say something like "read" or something like that.

Oh! I get it! Each letter is in a font that starts with that letter.



As someone who does a lot of calligraphy, I love this. I would change the font for "Ll" though. It looks like the two are connected, whih is confusing until you figure out what it is by context clues. So something besides Lucida (?).

i think this will have a hard time on voting and i doubt it gets printed since this already has, i know it's not the same but i doubt threadless would print another abc shirt, of course i might be wrong

Flip the design horizontally, and replace the blue with orange, and make the green brighter. Nobody will then care about the fonts.
