i like the red hair and what not.. her jaw line is a bit too wide tho, makes her look butch.. also i dont think the text is necessary, the celery and red drink should bring the message.. maybe you could put the text on the back? i think this would be popular with red heads!
my design is up for voting! last day!! http://www.threadless.com/submission/152430/READ_A_BOOK |

ElCEl on Feb 24 '08
i would use a different green on the lime and celery, just to differieciate (bad spelling i know) between them... also i would remove the red outline and just keep with the maroon...
would buy this... http://www.threadless.com/critique/13564/Paper_T#v9 |

Thank you guys! I've just scored your design Eric, and wrote a comment in your critique ElCEl :)
Let's see if I get a couple of messages here, and then I'll do some changes to my design :) |

I like the text, although I hate the drink ;0)
Agree that her jaw should be rounded out. I can see this tee being worn, but as a guy I wouldn't wear it myself. Good luck! |
|
rocio.jaimes on Feb 25 '08
I made a version with the text written in the back, but somehow I feel like the front would look a bit plain without it...
Ps: Oh! I forgot to bring the file to my office, grrrr!!! :-( |
|
rocio.jaimes on Feb 26 '08
Here's the new version, with some changes... The ones you guys suggested! :)
Thanks, and keep the comments coming :) |

loganwagner on Feb 26 '08
I actually like it much better without the copy in the front. I would argue that you don't even need "Bloody Mary" at all, I mean the drink is pretty recognizable and it is the first thing that comes to mind when you see the picture. I would also play around with different fonts, the one you are using now doesn't feel right for me (all though it may just be my taste), other than that, I feel red heads will dig it.
I have a design up for critique, would you help me out? http://www.threadless.com/critique/15970/Writer_Block_Crumbles |
|
Nicte Kono on Feb 27 '08
Must to try to change the font... but really do not need the text...
|
|
ElCEl on Feb 27 '08
this looks much better now... the text on the back has made a massive impact... as has slimming her square jaw off... i can see people scoring highly for this now...
nice one... http://www.threadless.com/critique/13564/Paper_T |

rocio.jaimes on Feb 27 '08
What kind of font should I try in that case? A more "retro", or a "chic" one? hehe!
Thank you all :-D |

Jaw is still a little broad. Looks good!

LOOKS GOOD

imaginary_wanderer on Feb 29 '08
perhaps a little subtle shading... it would make the image seem a little more 3D and less like a coloring book.
but i like the idea! |
|
rocio.jaimes on Mar 01 '08
The shading would be for the girl or the drink?
Thanks for the comments everyone :) |
|
imaginary_wanderer on Mar 01 '08
the shading would be for both, but mainly for the drink
|
|
loganwagner on Mar 01 '08
Have you done the font mod yet? I would go for a more chic font, but really the only way of knowing is by testing them out. I still think that no copy is necessary. Agree with the shading coment, it looks a little flat.
|
|
rocio.jaimes on Mar 01 '08
This version has no text on the back, and has the little shading for the glass, suggested by imaginary_wanderer: Even if you said before that it looks like a coloring book, I'm actually going for a real simple design, and that's why it's not very realistic, hehehe :)
My question would be, which one is better? Version 2 or version 3? Thanks everyone for all your comments and suggestions, and for taking the time to look at my critique! :) |
|
Nicte Kono on Mar 01 '08
Version 3
|
|
rocio.jaimes on Mar 02 '08
I forgot to add the shadow's color as the eighth color in the design :)
|
|
Lonkiponk on Mar 02 '08
version tree is better,
The shadow does work. |

rocio.jaimes on Mar 02 '08
How can I figure out if my design can be succesful? haha! :)
|
|
rocio.jaimes on Mar 03 '08
bump! :)

rocio.jaimes on Mar 03 '08
cough *bump* cough :-P

rocio.jaimes on Mar 07 '08
another bump? Oh...! :-/
|
|
Lonkiponk on Mar 07 '08
I guess you can never fully find out in advance if your design will be succesful. All you can do is make it as good as you can.
Anyway, maybe you need a bit more of a story in your concept. Just an idea, maybe give the lady a decoration in her hair to make her look a bit like a tomato. You know, like green leaves and a little twig.???????????? Do with my suggestion as you like. |
|
rocio.jaimes on Mar 16 '08
Okey, Mary has a couple of changes:
* I'm adding the tomato reference in her hair (it's a sketch, it could look better...) * One of her earrings shinea a bit, and the lemon too... Every comment is highly appreciated, thanks everybody! :) |
|
rocio.jaimes on Mar 16 '08
ups! The earring shines a bit... :)
|
|
Jokem on Mar 16 '08
Looks really good, but do lemons really shine?

You are getting there.
Remember the staffel spam stuff. I won't put links up but I've got a new critique up myself. So If you feel like it you're welcome. |

Lonkiponk on Mar 17 '08
Oh just a quick note, Maybe make the glass shine instead of the lemon. It would make more sense I guess.
|
|
rocio.jaimes on Mar 17 '08
Now the glass is shining, and not the lemon ;)
|
|
rocio.jaimes on Mar 17 '08
bump... :-P

Mountain Gnome on Mar 17 '08
Rocio, I think that maybe you could make her hair seem more tomato like with a slight indent where the green hair decoration/leaf is. it would not need to be big, just so that the top of her hair is not so symmetrical. Nice design.
|
|
Mountain Gnome on Mar 17 '08
Hi Rocio
I think that maybe the hair needs to look more like a tomato, so that the hair decoration looks more like the leaves that it is supposed to represent. you could make a small indent where it attaches so that the hair is less symmetrical. I like the design. |
|
Mountain Gnome on Mar 17 '08
sorry for the double post!
|
|
I.Summers on Mar 17 '08
A couple of highlights on the hair might do the trick. Really cool design!

|
rocio.jaimes on Mar 17 '08
Mary has the lil' indent, made by the pin in her hair suggested by Mountain_Gnome and the highlight mentioned by I_Summers; it looks more like gray hairs, so... Let me know what you guys think again :)
|
|
Mountain Gnome on Mar 18 '08
Yeah Cool!
