OK, I\'ve been posting this in the blog area, but I want to send it through the crit section for some final advice. It\'s based off of the Greek legend of Arachne...she was turned into a spider after loosing a weaving contest to Athena. Advice, comments, anything? Thanks all!
lol! thatnks Ian. I tried moving her around and she was even more backpack...maybe she's the Yoda in the group. I'll keep playing with the placement. PigBoat,I was afraid maybe the lines made it too complicated...solutions?
Yeah, does look like a grandma backback, because the poisitioning of the two characters in the background does not agree with the perspective established by the feet of the girl on the left in the forground. But. The dynamics of the composition as it is is very interesting, so I'd like to see you make it work close to as it is... Thought with the people all in a swooping line as they are, I'd like to see the spider taken from the forground, where she pulls the eye away from the line of people, to the web, where the line of peoople would draw the eye to her.
Lovely design, and lovely concept; I've always been fond of the various myths regarding Arachne the trickster.
SO cool. VERY original. I like the spider hanging at the bottom. Maybe its a little bit cluttered like some people said but I don't know - that might make the composition. I'd vote 5.
Ok, here's version 2. I moved "granny backpack" so that she's in a new postion but still fits into the flow. I feel it's important for the spider to remain at the bottom of the design since she's trailing down the "ladder of her descendants." So how we doin'? ...submit?
No crit from me. Wonderful sentiment, beautifully composed and rendered, colors are great and it looks real good on the shirt. I'll make it 18 submits and look forward to scoring it. Cheers!
