yeah, there may be a better way to handle the text.

seems that whenever theres text people want it removed - but i think in this case its confusing without it and since its a made up word it 'works'.

I like this a lot. The arrow might read better if it was less rounded though. Weren't the handle and arrow a different color than the body on the actual toys? A color difference might make it read more clearly as well.

Thanks thats a good point. I looked at a few and they were the same color, but that could be a good design element to differentiate them a bit more.

I like it a lot, only suggestion I can really think of is if maybe you added the base thing of the see 'n say and put that speaker on there, although I'm not sure how you'd incorporate the 'voice'. Oh, I really like the layout that its in now.

nice work, I kinda liked the top right lever more in the orange/red, but still top notch.

I prefer the shadow in the 1st version too. In the third one, it make us looking more at the shadow than at the essential. (I hope you understand, I'm french and it's quite difficult to explain)

Great concept, beautifully rendered. The speech bubble/type is superbly designed, best I've ever seen. Great composition, rhythm, texture, coloration and shirt placement. That said, I have one suggestion. See if a more contrasting outline color, blue/maroon, better delineates/brings out the aliens. Right now they're a bit subservient to the package, and in the scheme of things, they're really the element that puts the twist into the concept.



Anyway, excellent work, $5 when it gets to scoring.

The only problem with it is I can't vote a $5 on it yet!

Its funny.. I think and this is just a personal preference that I would like to see more color variation in the aliens. maybe an orange one with a blue tongue a white and blue one.. just change it up a bit more.

i think i like v5 a lil bit better, but that might be a matter of taste not quality, maybe just post both versions when you submit

I like V5 a little more right now, but if you changed up the background colors on the aliens (notably the blue ones) I would prefer the multi-colored aliens.

I'd say that the text is necessary, maybe you could look at different fonts/bubble styles, but I don't think that change is needed.

KEEP IT!! The sounds are what make a see-n-say so awesome. What would it be without the blorgk? This is not one of those annoying 'label under the picture' text situations, this is integral to the design, i think.

agreed and the design is massively improved with the different color aliens in my opinion.. good job.

I agree with DG on the bubble. It's not superfluous. It supports and conveys the concept, and augments the visual with the expected/integral sound feature of a See and Say.



Besides that, it's the best type/design speech bubble I've ever seen.

I'd say change the word to random wingdings or something, because aliens most likely don't talk in ways that we can put into our arabic characters. Just make up some characters and have it say that.

I thought about that at first, but never tried it. May be worth exploring. My idea was more illustrating the sound it would make to us. Any one have any thoughts on that?

honestly I dont think dingbats or unrecognizable characters would get across the message of sound . I think the letters are fine..



we aren't supposed to be reading this, we are supposed to be hearing it. so I dont think you have to worry about the characters being in an alien alphabet.
