wahnbriefe (madness letters) was a collection of letters to friends written by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche right before he was institutionalized.

this time I changed out the thread color, added the needle, a loose thread on the face and gave the points where the thread is going through some tension pulling a bit on the face halves.

This is set up to use actual stitching for the thread.

Interesting concept but I'm not sure too many people will get it. I like the colors and the added needle.

agreed, I'm hoping it looks interesting enough outside of it's meaning to score well.

Interesting concept... but I wouldn't have recognized that it was Nietzsche if you hadn't said so. (Looked like Teddy Roosevelt to me.) I'd have chosen a later photograph, when his moustache had achieved much larger proportions... but most people aren't going to recognize any photograph of Nietzsche, so maybe that doesn't matter.

BTW, I think I liked the red thread better. Minor quibble, though. Almost any color would work, I suppose.

thanks.

I agree that too few know of Nietzche, that's partially why I chose the younger view, as his bristly moustachioed visage would only confound the ignorant even further.

Now that you've said Teddy, that's all I can see :D

i agree on using a phto of an older Nietzsche, and i sort of feel this is missing something, thoudh i cant think of anything now :/, anyways it would be great to have a Nietzsche tee, Ive been craving one for years, good luck

If you're satisfied with this photo of Nietzsche, then there's not much else to do with the design, really. Anything more than what you have now would probably just clutter it up and confuse the issue.

I like the idea. But I dont l like the photoshop cut out filter look. I would only consider buying it if it looked more hand drawn.

That's too bad that it looks like the photoshop filter, I spent a couple hours layering in that look with the pen tool in illustrator. Kinda cheapens the time I spent.

I'm not lambasting you for pointing it out, just realizing that I've been making quite a few images like this (like my avatar) only to remember that the same look can be achieved with 2 clicks :(

You uys have talked me into an older Nietzche, I'll mock it up later and see if I still think it's pursuable.

I like this a lot, I agree an Older Nietzche would give it more character and I do like the blue string better. This reminds me of the part in Pan's Labyrinth where the guy sews up his mouth.

If you have time I would appreciate feedback on my design, and I swear I hadn't seen your robot design before I came up with this:
