I actually submitted this for critique earlier, but deleted it. Here it is again. It's my Revolution idea. Normally, the shirt will look like a regular guy. But if it gets dark, he transforms into a vampire. But because vampires melt in daylight, UV color change ink shows up in sunlight that shows the vampire melting. Any feedback is appreciated.

Is that Rufus Wainwright?

vampires don't melt, they burn.... or vaporise more so.. They ususally can't even stay awake BEFORE the sun even comes up so it's unlikely that a vampire would even see the sun, unless he had to.. Perhaps there should be holes in his face showing stringy tissue or something, more like a "plastercised" human... look it up so you get my drift?? don't know the spelling. And yes i am aware that we're talking about a fictional character here, but there are still governing laws to their own physiology. Apparently.

i agree, vampires aren't made of wax and they usually combust when hit with sunlight. awesome idea though, i hope it can work!

I feel like I really need a fresh perspective on this. It seems people like the concept at least. As for the execution what should change? Should I start from scratch? Should I add detail? Is the vampire stage not good enough? If melting doesn't quite work, should I go for fleshy tears in the face and stuff or something?

I like it. But please give him some ears and eyebrows when he is in "normal" mode! I like the melting mode, though it could require some explanation from the wearer :)

he definitely needs ears.... he looks REALLY out of proportion otherwise...

i think what would be cool, as ipeacockdesign said is rather than just having a face.

perhaps you could have a vampire doing some really cool pose wearing a black cloke, then in the sunshine it becomes just a cool dusty/statue like vampire [turn to stone],

then at night add the moon, with an extreme closeup of the vampire in glow in the dark... i think atm it is too soft..
vampires are hardcore so make it so.

i like the concept but not the execution.

i don't know how you would make it look like dust in the day that's all, but stone implies gargoyle?

I wouldn't worry too much about the critiques on vampire biology and mortality, if you want your vampire to melt, I think its fine.

That said, I like this design and a nice use of the UV and glow inks. I think its a clever idea, but I think the execution could be better. The head seems out of proportion, and somewhat diagrammatic. The glow in the dark part seems kid of silly and childish. If the quality of the artwork was brought up to the quality of the idea, this could be really cool

Thanks for the advice people. I kind of had the same feelings with the overall execution of artwork.

I'm just torn because I think it would make a good Revolution submission, but the deadline for that is tomorrow and I really don't have the time to do this thing right.

u cant animate a shirt like that. all the lines will still show.

It's coming down to crunch time. Should I rush this into Revolution in the couple of hours before the deadline? Or just start from scratch and hope an innovative design like this would fare well enough in the regular competition?

Okay, I think I'm going to put this one on the back-burner for a while. My skill is not up to the level to do the concept justice yet. If anyone would want to collab on this or something, I'd be down.

But, I'm not going to submit something I'm not happy with. Thanks for feedback.

My thoughts on the use of glow ink is that the shirt has to look cool even when it isn't glowing. If it only kicks when it glows (5-10% of the time) then why wear it?

I always wondered where Olly got his inspiration from.

I had the same uv light idea with a vampire in it.
But I didn't had glow honestly.
I never thought of that print combo .

For anyone who is a fan of this idea, check out Woss's Vampire! submission.

He came up with the same concept but did a much better job at executing it.

Sorry, here's that submission.
