A new illustration I drew over the holiday - what do you think? I really didn't want to add anything to it... but the lights helped a lot. Suggestions?

i like it, maybe a groundline would help to, well ground it, cause at fisrt sight it might seem like flotating guns or something (or maybe not, i havent slept well), and maybe you should change the title, cause you might get antigun comments such as "your completely wrong, a city is safer without guns", and what about coloring the gunbuildings? make them stand out rather than blend in the background, maybe just some lighter shade of gray would do the trick

yeah, i did something with smoking and people freaked out.

it needs some fine tuning but wow this is one of the better uses of Guns in a design I have seen in ages. Well done. Keep on this one. Don't Over work it.

title: "safe" city



I like the idea that it is stating that with a gun you feel safe but that it is also saying that with too many guns it may not be as safe as you might think. Maybe it needs some Traffic tail lights going into the city creating a few streaks of red, but if this makes it too complex don't do it.

yea, i think you should make a ground line and color the ends of the guns to look like buildings and then "underground" you can see that theyre guns. and not buildings at all.

hm... i like the amount of windows here, but other than that, i like v1 better.

damn, hatew to say this but here it is, i thinke there are too many lit windows, i liked them more spaced out, like it's so late very few are still awake, the goundline seems to work but the added buildings not so much, i liked the all gunbuildings and i preferred it on grays, to be honest if i had to pick ill go with v1 right now, but no worries, youre really good and its still early in development and im sure final version will rock, and besides i might be wrong, anyway cheers and keep it up =)

I think you kind of lost the guns in the version 2 compared to the version 1.

I added all those windows and then when I shrank it down to fit here it was super crowded... yikes.

Yeah I agree, I think the guns do get lost in v2, and I like v1 better. I think a nice hint of smoke comming from a barrel could add a nice effect, making it seem as if it were a chimney?

opifan64 - I like what you're saying about the title too.

There will probably be people reacting negatively towards guns in most places, I'd suggest submitting it here first and seeing how well it does.



I think except for the smoke, I liked version 2 better. I think more lights add to the bright big city, and the sketchier bottom of the guns made it less about the guns in a way. I think having the clearly identifiable guns somehow takes away from the concept and that it was stronger as sort of a jumble.

I would vote for Safe City as the title as well.

My MAIN goal is to be subtle... ideally I would like the viewer to see the city FIRST and the guns after...

This is so close to perfect. I think the windows are a little too even in places. A well placed one or 2 windows per row up or down by a window size could help this problem. I wasn't a fan of the blue shirt to start but this version is looking very good.

I'll put both color options in.

btw: love the smoke coming out of the top of that one gun/building. very well done.

I've added the charcoal shirt option. I also changed the lights from yellow to a green yellow which looks great on the gray shirt!!

damn i was just gonna say that id prefer the original yellow on the grey shirt, still looks great though
