I've actually removed some graphics, like a tight rope and spot light... if y'all are finding this boring than speak up - I'll put up another version up...

Alligator Bear Clown?



The eyes on the head need to be better defined.



Could it have an alligator tail? Could it have in the background only printed in the shadow color silhouettes of the ring edge and a ring master in a hands on the hips pose?

uh, just a strange mutant animal I guess.

Both like fish?



I've been toying with the tail... an audience too. Just having trouble putting it all together.

your painting: paradise lost would make a great shirt concept. With some careful planning and possible mixed media processes it could be great. Silver and Gold foils.

it's taken me some time to get an updated version out because I just got a WACOM tablet and I've been trying it out... this version I've used it to edit my drawing and add new little elements...

Removed the ball

Added Ringmaster and Fish

Added tail and nose

Changed eye...

Very nice progress. I do think it needs something to ground the 2 elements together. don't be afraid to try using a larger silhouette in the background to serve as a stage of sorts.

you're right... I have this idea of an arena with small circle-like heads all around... but I can't make it happen like I'm envisioning it? grrr I'll keep trying and post another really soon. THANKS as always.

I think it might benefit from having a slight shadow under the creature kinda like you have with the small stage the ringmaster is standing on, mainly just to ground it and make it seem less... I dunno floaty? besides that I like it!

oh, I'm working on a background (audience) any suggestions here would be appreciated. Ive been sketching and having a difficult time with it so far...

Hey, thats starting to shape up fantastically! The shadow works well and I love the colour. I think the stand thing the Ringleader is standing on could be cleaned up a bit, but besides that mate it looks ready to rock. Oh and I'd go with the upper placement, in most cases the lower ones get obstructed and crumpled and it just looks better for this design :D Good Luck mate!

v1 colors please ='(, i think that blue is breaking the balance

against... I thought I was doing v1... ha! I'll take out the blue.

I've added audience - it rough but I wanted some feedback on the design. Does it work?

V1 COLORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D, the audicence seems that could work, with colors of course =)

I like how this versions looks, the shirt color is great with this and the audience looks good how it is. You can tell that there is a audience but its not taking your eye away from the "freak".



I say maybe work the audience detail a little more then submit it.

Thanks - I like the yellow too kinda. I would really like a very old style circus feel. That's why browns and yellow with a touch of red.



I'm going to work more on the audience - I don't want to over do it but maybe adding some flags or more detail on the people (hats etc.)

nice tee...i like your style...i think the lettering could use some circus colors...and maybe a little bit of color in the audience..i'd like to see how this turns out!

this is so cool. i think you should color the inside of the mouth with red again like in V1. other than that i love it!

I think the yellow looks the best! If you're going to do a dark color like this you might want to add a touch of camera flashes? This might make you audience seem a bit more alive, and excited?

I think I'm liking it on Lighter color shirts best...

Don't kill me againstbound... I've stuck with the colors, just not the brown shirt.

the Sand and Heather are really nice... the red and yellow give them a wee bit of pop.

I really like the way you made so much progress, have you tried to ad color to some of the faces in the audience, I was just thinking it might create some depth

love how it's progressed, but i'm not too crazy about the t-shirt color options. i guess it's sort of hard to dress the monster and a person at the same time. perhaps more color throughout?

okay.. I completely did a 360 on the colors. I like the blue! It's got the spunk of the yellow but it's wearable! right?

gah! i'm not easily disturbed by imagery, but this freaks me out. but i think that's good, still. just, gah! i'm going to have nightmares.

Maybe try illuminating the two main characters as if they were under a strong spot light and darken the audience to set them further into the background?

The colors just seem to make them feel too separated for my liking...

THe color thing is really getting me... I haven't found something that really "sings" yet.

okay - don't everyone shoot at once. I can't sleep until this is resolved... I'm trying something a little wacky... the pink freak made me laugh so I thought I would post it for feedback.



The idea is Circus Freak... so either I do a really mellow, almost monochromatic color scheme to counter balance the freak idea OR I go with some freakish colors to complement the idea. I'm stuck ...



My goal is to make someone chuckle... is should be funny, not serious or scary ; )

i like everything you've done. it still looks a little bit empty to me. i actually liked the ball on the original version, perhaps have a ball or two in the foreground? and maybe a little texture on the ground?

oh, and i think the colours are perfect right now!

i still think v1 colors are the ones that suit perfect, for what ive seen in your designs your first color choices are really good, you should trust your inicial taste more =), but still id wear this in any of the color combinations youve shown so far

but i think i like version 2 best

you know, I agree that the colors in v1 were the best and most suiting. keep it on a brown color for sure though. and having the monster colored in is definitely a must; makes him come forward, otherwise he's at the same plane as the audience.

here it is... thanks for all the help, ideas and suggestions.



I've complied them to make a light version and a dark version... using roughly the same color pattern.



Also, I changed up the stance on the Freak too - it needed to be more vertical... what do you think?
